1907- 2005
Centenary Appeal 75000 euros.
Update,
February 2005
Two years to go until we celebrate our centenary. Thanks to all
your generosity and support, in our effort to renovate the church in time to
celebrate our centenary in 2007, we have, so far, raised 30000 euros within the
first year, of our three year appeal. This money been spent already on the
first phase of our plan, the renovation of the exterior, which is nearly
complete.

Extensive

As you can see from these pictures much has been achieved: a total of 32000 euros has been spent. A huge thank you to
those of you who have donated money, and organised fund raising events.
Our centenary appeal is spread over three years, and we are on target at the
end of the first year thanks to you !
What
are our plans for 2005?
We now turn our attention to
the interior of the building:
·
Installing a
sound system with loop for those with hearing difficulty.
·
Creating new
toilet facilities, much needed!
·
Creating a small
meeting room that can be heated independently.
·
Creating
facilities for serving refreshments more efficiently
·
Redecorating the
interior.
We aim to raise another
30000 euros this year, and ask you now to consider how you can best respond to
the second stage of this appeal.
To make a donation, for the next two years of the
appeal, for example of 150 euros / £100 a year. Remember 65% of this is recoverable if you
pay French tax, and the English tax man will give us 28p for every £ you
donate.
To organise a fund raising activity. This year we
have enjoyed a concert by the young musician of the year, sold well over a
thousand recycled Christmas cards, held a car boot sale and shared lunches and
quizzes.
What can you do to help St.
John’s this year ??
