The fund-raising target has finlly been achieved! This means that the outstanding work should be finished early in 2007, in time for the main Centenary celebrations.
Already the interior painting has been completed, and the floor refurbishment will be completed before Christmas. The additional chairs have been purchased, and will be used by the choir. The organ has been relocated to the right hand side, with the choir opposite. And the new flood lighting is casting a bright illumination (possibly too bright!) onto the altar.
The glass entrance porch has been delayed due to problems at the suppliers, and now will not be fitted until the New Year. Then there will be a number of cosmetic touches to bring back the "warmth" into the décor. The precise nature of these are still under review.
