Progress has been good on the works identified in the "Plans for the Interior". The library has been moved to the former vestry, and now has new shelves and its own external door. The old toilet has been renovated. Terra Cotta tiles have been laid in the new sacristy, which has been fitted out with a sink and worktop. A new hot water tank has been installed, and all the plumbing and electrics have been renewed.
At the rear of the church, in the position formerly occupied by the library, a new disabled toilet has been built, also a meeting room/kitchen and space for hanging coats. The wooden entrance box has been removed from the main door, pending the installation of a glass entrance box. Plasterwork has been "made good" ready for painting.
New lighting has been installed in the body of the church and in the new rooms - up/down lighters in the body of the church, and concealed strip light along the walls of the church and in the new rooms. A third air-conditioning unit has been installed and wall heaters have been added. The wiring is in place for the sound distribution system.
The main outstanding work now is the painting of the interior, the repair, sanding and resealing of the floors, and the installation of the glass vestibule. However, there is still quite a bit of detailed items, like the fitting out of the new kitchen, and the sanitary fittings in the new toilet. These are all being progressed during the coming months.
