Harvest lunch, 2003 - "Indoors if wet" Back

The 2003 Harvest Festival at St. John's (28th September) fell on what was probably the wettest day of the year so far in this part of the Var. The church was decorated with flowers, and the service was conducted during the day-long downpour. Afterwards, about 30 people braved the inundation of the coast road to les Issambres, where an "indoor picnic" was held in the house of Yvette Andersen. After lunch, there was a fund-raising auction. Despite the weather, the event was enjoyed by all, and our thanks go to Yvette for the arrangements and hosting us in her house..
