Robert Scamardella, a BBC Young Musician of the Year Piano Prize Winner, returned to St. Raphaël to present two concerts in aid of the St. John's centenary appeal. The first concert took place in the drawing room of the Villa Aurélienne in Fréjus, and included works by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Chopin and Liszt. The following week he was joined by the local young cellist Guillaume Artus, for a performance of the last movement of the Beethoven Sonata for piano and violincello in G Minor. Robert also reprised the Chopin, Beethoven, Haydn and Liszt works from the previous concert. All seats were sold at the Centre Culturelle and both evenings were much enjoyed. |
