| At the church lunch on the third Sunday in October, which was held
in the side aisle of the church, we said au revoir and thank you to Alan
and Dawn Runnicles as they move back to London. Alan has been the
instrumental force behind the renovations to St John's, devoting an
enormous amount of time and energy to the work for which he was given a
huge vote of thanks. Alan was presented with a card, showing various
aspects of his life here at St John's, and a gift token. Dawn was
presented with flowers. A bunch of Runnuculus, who could resist that!!
To round off Ben's speech of thanks he played an extract from ''I Did It
My Way' sung by Frank Sinatra. Alan was thanked for his work as Church
warden and for the great contribution they made to the choir. |
