saints of God today, grace and peace
be to you, and all encouragement in the witness,
example and prayers, of

The First
For
this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family[a] in heaven
and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may
strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that
Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted
and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp
how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this
love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the
fullness of God.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more
than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to
him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for

Gospel:
Matthew 5: 1-12
Now when he saw
the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to
him, and he began to teach them saying:
"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be
comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will
inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for
righteousness,
for they will be
filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be
shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will
see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,

A Life Worth Living

An exciting
follow-up to the Alpha Course, which was
well
attended and much appreciated last year,
This
is based on the book of Philippians. Each session explores how it is possible
to live the Christian life positively, practically and joyfully!
Full
time and part time residents are urged to take part here at
Continuing Tuesday 3rd Nov at St John’s, and Tuesdays thereafter at 12.30 with light bring and share lunch
followed by discussion.

on the third Sunday in November as we are having a bring
