We celebrated the Resurrection with a joyful Easter communion service attended by most of our residents, plus those watching from afar – the UK and elsewhere. The congregation sang the traditional Easter hymns with their usual enthusiasm and the choir sang an arrrangment of the wonderful Townend/Getty hymn “See what a morning”. Our Sunday school children gave out Easter eggs to all the congregation during the last hymn. The church flower arrangers provided beautiful displays at the church entrance and in front of the altar.
We continued the tradition of the wire-covered cross, placed in front of the altar on Good Friday, which was then covered in flowers on Easter Sunday, brought by each member of the congregation – a powerful reminder of the new life availalble as a result of the Resurrection.
